GREETINGS FROM NASHVILLE

I can’t begin to tell you how amazing my trip to Nashville was! Last month, my son Zion and I spent a few days in Nashville recording some of the new songs for my upcoming project. We spent two days in studio - one of those days we tracked drums, bass and guitars with some friends of mine and one day, we tracked vocals. The studio was amazing and the crew couldn’t have been more supportive. Get this: we completed three songs in less than six hours! I can’t wait to get these songs edited and finalized in the next few months so that you all can hear them but I will have little snippets for you to hear along the way! I’d love to tell you guys a story about why it was special that Zion came with me on this trip.
During my sabbatical last year, as my boys were getting ready for bed one night, Zion was playing music in his room. I found it interesting that he kept playing songs I sang that night but as I tucked him in, he told me he was making a dad playlist. He sleeps with music playing all night, and that night, he wanted music that was only sung by his dad. In that moment I felt the Lord make this impression on me as clearly as a friend speaking: “When your son wants to feel safe and comforted… He listens to you. There are songs in you that the world needs to hear but even if no one ever cared for it, these young men in your home will forever be blessed by the songs you write and sing. So don’t be afraid.” That next morning I called my producer friend and started early talks about a solo project and eventually reached out to all of you. That night my son reminded me that it wasn’t too late to dream. It wasn’t too late to try. But most of all, he gave me the courage to believe that there would be value in this. So it was a blessing to have him with me as we recorded the song ‘Just Like My Father’ which I hope to be one of my first singles!
Thank you for your ongoing support and faith in me. I’m attaching some pictures and video that I know you’ll enjoy!
