#Bootcamp2.0 Challenge

My office hours begin at 8:30... if I post this by then does it still count for yesterday?

At CF, we've just begun a brand new series called 'Bootcamp' and it's already making tons of noise. Bootcamp will be special because our Pastors are challenging our church to do 4 things:

1. Be at church every weekend for the next 6 weeks... Just be there!
2. Spend time with God everyday for 30 days. We call this a quiet time.
3. Pray and Fast along with the entire church on may 7th... National Day of prayer.
4. Do a Reach Beyond with your small group. Basically find a way to serve your community outside of the walls of the church in a real way.

This is gonna be a huge challenge for all of us. It'll put us in a position where we can grow closer to God in our walk with Him.

So what's the 2.0 challenge? Well, all the staff bloggers have found ourselves in bountiful moments of blogging and also times where we've sputtered out and died. This is the challenge to all CF Bloggers: Blog everyday for 30 days. Let's do it!!!!!

Let it rain!

Can you believe that between Jan 2nd- March 16th of this year we have had only .85 inches of rain? Water levels all over South Florida are so low...

Check this...
This is a popular airboat launch area in West Palm. Talk about dry! It has been dry and hot lately with constant humid afternoons.

It was like the weather was begging to rain last week. Sunday it seemed to dribble (no not drizzle) for a few minutes and all that did was bring in a bunch of mosquitoes. But finally, last night, the heavens parted and rain fell... all night!

I got drenched, but at least I know my grass got some love. I get depressed seeing brown, dead grass. Bring the rain!

"O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water." - Psalm 63:1

Another effort at a return

Yes, I know I've fell off the the face of the blogging earth as of recently, and truthfully, I have no good reason as to rest upon... So here I am no excuses; ready to blog.

In the next few weeks we'll be starting a new series on sunday nights at CF College and Young Adults. We're going to open up the book of James (one of my favs) and pick out a couple of key topics James talks about.

One of the topics that has been showing itself with some regularity is the topic of annointing and praying over the sick. James 5 14-15 says: "Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. And their prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make them well. And anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven."

This is something that bible says, we don't know why God wants us to do it, but the bible says 'do' so we do.

Recently, after a service on saturday night, a woman had asked a few of the pastors present that night to pray for her. She actually had called the church office that week and scheduled a time to meet with us. She, without getting into much detail, will be enduring a very crucial surgery that can be very tricky due to a tumor. Her faith was AMAZING! She trusted God's word and approached us, her pastors, and wanted to be prayed for.

Pastor Rick paraphrased that very verse to explain to her what he would do. It was a very special moment and I believe God will honor her faith because of that night.

Thanks volunteers!

I was out of town this sunday (freezing my tail off in VA) and despite a few hiccups, CFH had an awesome service. I heard there was an awesome vibe around campus.

This would NEVER happen without the amazing volunteers I work with down in Homestead. I'm very grateful for you all. You inspire me to work diligently all week long. Keep it up!
